README


This firmware package is intended for systems configured with the
IBM Multi-Burner Plus IDE drive.

This package requires 3MB of space on your hard disk drive.
This update will only work in Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation.


Downloading the drivers
-----------------------
1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.
2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the
   downloaded file.


Unpacking the drivers
---------------------
1.  Click Start, select Find or Serach, then click Files and folders.
2.  Type 33p3309_a113.exe in the search field, then click Find Now.
    This will locate the file you just downloaded. 
3.  Double-click the 33p3309_a113.exe icon.
4.  Click Next. Read the license agreement.
5.  Click I accept the terms in the license agreement.
6.  Click Next.
7.  Ensure that "Save files in folder" is set to
    C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\MULTIPLUS.
8.  Click Next. The DriveUpdater application should start
    automatically.
9.  Ensure that the proper drive, HLDS GMA-4040B, is selected.

    NOTE: If your system does not contain an appropriate driver you
    will see the message "Can't find the target drive". You should
    click EXIT as you do not need to install this update.

10. Click UPDATE to bring the firmware of your IBM Multi-Burner Plus
    drive to the current version.
11. When the update is complete, click EXIT.
