1.0  OVERVIEW
-------------

This README file contains instructions for installing IBM Active
PCI Software for Active PCI Manager on SUSE LINUX Enterprise 
Server 8. This product consists of the following files:

IBM Active PCI Software for Active PCI Manager on SUSE LINUX 
Enterprise Server 8 provides an interface to the Linux Advanced 
Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) driver that is used 
by IBM Active PCI Manager when running SUSE LINUX Enterprise 
Server 8. IBM Active PCI Manager is a Server Plus Pack 
extension to IBM Director.


1.1  Systems Requirements
-------------------------

You can obtain a list of supported IBM servers from the IBM Web
page http://www.pc.ibm.com/support. For information about future
support, contact your IBM marketing representative.

1.2  Software Requirements
--------------------------

IBM Active PCI Software for Active PCI Manager on SUSE LINUX 
Enterprise Server 8 can be installed on servers running only SUSE 
LINUX Enterprise Server 8, Service Pack 3.

2.0  CHANGE HISTORY
------------------

This is the first release of this product.  


3.0  INSTALLATION AND SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
----------------------------------------

Complete the following steps:

1. Download IBM Active PCI Software for Active PCI Manager on 
   SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 8 from the IBM Support Web page
   at http://www.pc.ibm.com/support

2. Open a bash console.

3. Change directories to the directory that contains the
   downloaded file.

4. Run the rpm command with the -Uvh options and the name of the
   downloaded file.
