This package performs an update of the BCM5703c ethernet firmware.  
This package will set the firmware level version 2.33 and the ASF
firmware level to 2.02I.

This code only applies to Broadcom BCM5703c based servers.

Changes made in this diskette, version 2.33:

     Firmware 2.33:
   - Get phy id from phy register instead of NVRAM configuration
   - Put delay before driving GPIO2 low
   - Enable phy in cold reset.
   - Added GPIO2 power status polling.
   - Fixed PXE ROM size bug
   - Supports Shared Memory data structure version 1
   - Removed phase 2 image loading failure LED blink feature 
     (to save space)
   - Support WoL Limit 10 speed
   - Added 2nd phase signature.

   - Fixed erroneous system wake up.
   - Added SNMP CommunityName handling

   - Cut aux power when driver goes hibernation without WOL
   - Added power saving mode support.
   - Added new WOL communication with driver
   - Added NVRAM corruption protection
   - Changed Phase1/Phase2 parameter passing to void bootcode/driver 
     race condition
   - Added Phase1 NVRAM access arbitration logic
   - Fixed ASF configuration application misreading EEPROM content
     problem
   - Fixed NULL MAC address problem 
   - Improved PXE loading speed
   - Supports dynamic bootcode location 
   - Fixed zero MAC address problem

Firmware upgrade version 2.21c  - initial IBM release for this server


3.0   Installation and Configuration

Make a system boot disk.
Run the Broadcom BCM5703C firmware update executable.
When executed, change the directory to A:, the floppy drive with the system disk inserted.
Boot the x335 up with this disk and at the prompt run the batch file,

UPDATE.BAT

It upgrades the ethernet firmware of the selected ethernet device.

The UPDATE.BAT usage is as follows:

    UPDATE [Device_Number]

where:
    Device_Number: Broadcom device to program, starting with 0
                   default is device 0 (first device scanned)

Example 1: to update the firmware of the second ethernet port:

     UPDATE 1

Example 2:  to update the firmware of the first ethernet port:

      UPDATE
