V1.00 - December 13, 2001 ------------------------- - Initial release 3.0 Installation and Setup Instructions The procedure to update the POST/BIOS remotely is as follows: 3.1 Download the "IBM eserver xSeries 360 remote flash BIOS update, diskette 2 of 2" file xxxx.exe (executable file, accompanying this README file) from the web to your hard drive. 3.2 Double-click on the icon to open a DOS window. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen. At the completion of the instructions it will prompt you to insert a blank diskette in drive A and press enter. 3.3 Open an Internet browser. 3.4 Enter the hostname or IP address for your Advanced System Management Ethernet interface as the URL and press "Enter". 3.5 Enter "USERID" (all upper case) for user name. Enter "PASSW0RD" (all upper case, with a zero "0" not an "O") and click "OK". 3.6 You must change the session timeout to 20 minutes and click "Continue". 3.7 In the left panel, under Tasks, click Firmware Update. 3.8 Click "Browse", navigate to drive A and click to select "xxxx.pkt" and click "Open". Then click "Update". 3.9 Click "Continue" to Confirm Firmware Update. 3.10 At "Update of BIOS (I32) firmware was successfull" message, click "Logoff". 4.0 Procedure to configure Advanced System Management Ethernet interface NOTE: 1. You need to obtain network interface information from your Network Administrator prior to configure the Ethernet interface. 2. You need to download and extract to a diskette "Advanced System Management flash update diskette 1 of 2" for IBM eserver xSeries 360. 4.1 Insert diskette 1 of 2 of Advanced System Management flash update diskette in drive A. 4.2 Start up or restart your server. 4.3 Select "Configuration Setting" at the IBM Remote Supervisor Utility menu and press "Enter". 4.4 Select "Ethernet Settings" and press "Enter". 4.5 At the "Ethernet Settings" dialog box, enable the "Network Interface" and enter the network information. Press "F6" to apply and press "F9" to restart.
