Choose "1 - Update SAL/EFI". 3.5 The current system SAL/EFI supports the Serial Number feature, you will be asked if you would like to change it. If you select 'Y', you will be able to enter a new number. 3.6 The current system SAL/EFI supports the Machine Type feature, you will be asked if you would like to change it. If you select 'Y', you will be able to enter a new number. 3.7 The current system SAL/EFI supports the Asset Tag feature, you will be asked if you would like to change it. If you select 'Y', you will be able to enter a new number. 3.8 You will then be asked if you would like to save the current code to a disk. If you select 'Y', you need to have a formatted disk already available, or specify a fully qualified path and file name. If this fails, make sure you're not executing from a CD-ROM, or if flash program is from the boot menu, then make sure some sort of writable media is attached to the system. 3.9 The image will be loaded from the disk. 3.10 After this completes the system will update the flash ROM with the new code. When this is complete you will be prompted to remove the disk and hit return to reboot the system. The system will reboot, unless the /u (unattended) option is used without the /r (reboot) option. 4.0 Configuration Information None 5.0 Unattended Mode Installation The procedure for installation in unattended mode. 5.1 Boot the system to the EFI Shell prompt 5.2 Execute the Flash utility on the command line by typing "Flash /u" 6.0 Installation and Setup for Remote Flash The procedure to update the SAL/EFI remotely is as follows: 6.1 Using a web browser, log in to the Remote Supervisor Adapter (RSA) of the server you want to update. You must log in with a user ID that has read/write privileges. 6.2 In the Tasks section of the blue navigation frame, click Transfer Files. 6.3 In the Update Firmware section of the page that opens, click Browse. 6.4 Navigate to the .PKT file in the same directory as this readme. Select the file and then click Open. 6.5 Click Update. A progress indicator will be displayed as the update file is transferred to temporary storage on the RSA for initial processing. ATTENTION: To avoid permanent damage to your server, do not manually power off or restart the server during an update unless specifically asked to do so in these instructions or by the web interface. If the server is already powered on, it will automatically be restarted by the RSA as part of the update process. If the server currently is powered off, it will automatically be powered on. 6.6 When the Confirm Firmware Update page is displayed, verify that the update file type is "Firmware" and then click Continue. If a different update type is shown, click Cancel and make sure that you downloaded the correct file in step 1 and selected the correct file in step 5. A progress indicator will be displayed as the firmware is flashed.
