Please read this entire file; information in this file may not appear in printed documentation or online ATI Desktop Help. 2.0 CHANGE HISTORY ------------------ Win 2000 driver required to ask for DirectX 9.We took this option out in this driver. - - - 3.0 INSTALLING THE ATI DISPLAY DRIVER & CONTROL PANEL ----------------------------------------- Refer to your Installation and Setup User's Guide for instructions on installing the ATI display driver in your system. Before installing the ATI video driver close all open applications and disable any anti-virus software that is running on your computer until the ATI driver installation is complete. To install the ATI video driver: 1. Run the file 'Setup.EXE' on the CD-ROM or from your local hard drive. 2. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen. 3. Restart the computer when instructed to do so to complete the driver installation. NOTE: ATI Control Panel is an optional component 2. SILENT INSTALL/UNINSTALL __________________________________________________________ 1. Setup /K or Setup -k Please note: Dialogs will come up but no user intervention is required. 2. There is no silent uninstall for video drivers. 3. CHANGING THE VIDEO SETTINGS USING DISPLAY PROPERTIES __________________________________________________________ 1. Right click the mouse anywhere on the Windows desktop and select 'Properties'. 2. Click on the 'Settings' tab. 3. Select the desired Resolution ('Screen Area') and Color Depth ('Colors') . 4. Click on 'Apply' and then 'OK'. 5. Restart your computer if necessary. __________________________________________________________ 4. REMOVING THE DISPLAY DRIVER AND CONTROL PANEL __________________________________________________________ Close all open applications and disable any anti-virus software that may be running. 1. Click on the 'Start' button 2. Click on 'Settings' then click 'Control Panel' 4. Click 'Add/Remove Programs' to open it. 5. Highlight the 'ATI Control Panel' and click the Remove button. 6. Follow on screen instructions and click 'No' when asked to restart. 7. Go back to 'Add/Remove Programs' and highlight the 'ATI Display Driver' and click the Remove button. 6. Click 'OK' and 'Yes' to Restart your computer. Once the computer has finished rebooting Windows will install a native display driver and the ATI video drivers will have been removed. NOTE: ATI Control panel is an optional component and not always present. __________________________________________________________ 6.
