       1.0   Overview  
       --------------

             1.1   Overview about this code:
                   This code release is required to install Windows 2003 on
		   part number 09N4291, the IBM NetBAY 2x8 Console Switch.
		
             1.2   Limitations:
		   This code release restricts the monitor resolution to 1024x768.  
	 	   If you need a higher resolution, please revert back to 2.1.1 code
		   after install.
                  
 
       2.0   Change History

             2.1   Allows installation of Windows 2003 onto IBM NetBAY 2x8 
		   Console Switch.
 
       3.0   Installation and Setup Instructions
       -----------------------------------------
 
             3.1   UPDATE PROCEDURE:

		Step 1.
		Connect the serial port of the switch to the COM port of your PC.
		Use a straight through RS232 cable.  You will need to know the
		number of the PC's com port.

		Step 2.
		Run WUpDate.exe.

		Step 3. 
		Select English language.

		Step 4.
		Select the desired Comm port.
	
		Step 5.
		Click the Load button.

		Step 6.
		Warning:  While downloading, do not use your computer for anything else
		or switch Windows. The download requires constant control of your computer,
		and switching to another Window may cause the download to timeout.
			
		Step 7.
		If a timeout occurs during any of the downloads, run the WUpDate 
		program again.

		POSSIBLE ERROR CONDITIONS:

		If the download does not execute correctly, verify the following:

		- Verify that the COM port is correct.
		- Verify that no other program is currently using that COM port.
		- Verify that no other copies of the WUpDate utility are currently 
		  running.
		- Verify a straight through (1-to-1) type of serial cable is used, 
		not a null modem serial cable
		- Verify in "Advanced Port Settings" for the selected COM port 
		that it is using FIFO buffers and the receive buffer is set to high.
