Review the entire contents of this document because the information in this file might not appear in the printed documentation or online help. 1.1 System Requirements This driver should be installed on a system with the AGP 4X/133 chipset, or later, and others' chipsets will not be supported. The AGP 4X/133 Driver is supported by Windows 95 OSR 2.1 (4.00.950 B), Windows 98, Millennium, and Windows 2000. Only for Win95 users,you will extra need to 1. Get "USBSUPP.EXE" from Microsoft, which includes the USB supplement and a new memory manager (VMM32.VxD) needed for the AGP DIME (Direct Memory Execute) feature. 2. Get DirectX 5.0 or later version from Microsoft. DirectX 5.0 is the first DirectX version that supports AGP's DIME. 1.2 Package Version Identification 1. In this package, there is a TXT file named VIAAGP.REV. You can see this package release version in this file. ex. If you can see 4.05 in this file, our Setup program will show 4.05 in driver installation screen. 2. This package release version is 4.05. 3. The driver version included in this package(Ver 4.05) Drivers Version --------------------------------------- Win2K filter Driver 5.00.00.0405 Win9X VXD Driver 4.04 WinMe VXD Driver 4.04 (Note : The drivers in WinMe directory are same as the ones in Win9X directory except that the Cat file is not the same.) 1.3 Distribution Package Contents This distribution package is compressed by pkzip. You can uncompress the zip file by "pkunzip -d " + "ZIP_FILE". For example, there is a zip file, abc.zip. You can uncompress it by the following instruction: pkunzip -d abc.zip The package by uncompressing includes these files are listed below. Driver Installation Method 1: Run "setup -b -s" in this installation package. It will install the "AGP 4X/133 Driver" automatically on your Windows 9x system. It will copy the driver "viagart.vxd" to the '\SYSTEM\' and set the related registry tree and then reboot the system. Method 2: Run "setup -s" in this installation package. The same effect as Method 1 except the system will not reboot. Method 3: Click the SETUP.EXE program and select "Install AGP 4x/133 in turbo mode" or "Install AGP 4x/133 in standard mode" button then it will install the "AGP 4X/133 Driver" automatically on your Windows 9x system. It will copy the driver "viagart.vxd" to the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ and set the related registry tree. 2. Driver Uninstall Method 1: Run "setup -u -s" to remove the "AGP 4X/133 Driver". It will remove the driver from the sytsem. Method 2: Run "setup -u -b -s" to remove the "AGP 4X/133 Driver". It will remove the driver and reboot the system. Method 3: Click the SETUP.EXE program and then selecting the "Uninstall" button then it will remove the "AGP 4X/133 Driver" from the sytsem. Windows 2000 Driver 1. Driver Installation Method 1: Run "setup" in this installation package. It will install the "AGP 4X/133 Driver" automatically on your Windows 2000 system. It will copy the driver "viaagp1.sys" to the '\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS' and set the related registry tree. 2. Driver Uninstall Method 1: Run "setup -u -s" to remove the "AGP 4X/133 Driver". It will remove the driver from the sytsem. Method 2: Run "setup -u -b -s" to remove the "AGP 4X/133 Driver". It will remove the driver and reboot the sytsem. Method 2: Click the SETUP.EXE program and then selecting the "Uninstall" button then it will remove the "AGP 4X/133 Driver" from the sytsem. Verifying Installation of the Driver Check this distribuation version by using "Windows Explorer".
