This package installs an update to the Windows Driver Model (WDM) 
device driver for the SoundMAX 1885 audio adapter that comes 
preinstalled in your IBM computer. This WDM driver may be used 
with Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 98 SE or Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000. 
This update requires approximately 3.8 MB of space on your hard 
disk (drive C).

This update package is intended for IBM Aptiva 2194-xxx except 23B, 
32B, 441, 2274-xxx, and for IBM NetVista 2194-xxx, 2251-xxx, 2271-xxx, 
2284-xxx, 6269-xxx, 6279-xxx, 6568-xxx, 6569-xxx, 6578-xxx, 6579-xxx, 
6644-xxx, 6645-xxx, 6646-xxx, 6648-xxx, 6649-xxx, 6830-xxx, 6831-xxx, 
6837-xxx, 6840-xxx, 6841-xxx, and 6847-xxx, systems.

Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation.  

Downloading the update
----------------------
1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.
2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save
   the downloaded file.

INSTALLING THE UPDATE
---------------------
1.  Click Start, higlight Find, then click Files and Folders.
2.  Type d69z28us.exe in the search box, then click Find Now.
    This will locate the d69z28us.exe file you just downloaded. 
3.  Double-click the icon for d69z28us.exe. 
4.  Click Next.
5.  Click I accept the terms in the license agreement.
6.  Click Next.
7.  Ensure the Save files in folder is set to 
    C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\D69Z28US.EXE.
8.  Click Next.
9.  The setup program will run.  Follow the onscreen prompts.
10. Shutdown and restart your system when the installation is complete.
