       1.0   Overview:  

             1.1   Overview about this code

                    This program recovers the Ethernet Controller onboard the
		    6849.  

             1.2   Level of Recommendations and Prerequisites for the
                   Update:

                    This utility is required for those customers who have installed
		    IBM Director 2.2.1 and a BIOS level greater than 20.

		    First release.

       3.0   Installation and Setup Instructions
       -----------------------------------------

             3.1   Step by step instructions for this code update

		1) Build the diskette for this update.
		2) Shutdown the 6849 machine.
		3) Open the cover of the machine.
		4) Remove the J8C2 jumper located next to the flash module which is
		    near the battery.
		5) Insert this diskette into the floppy drive.
		6) Boot to the diskette and let the program run to completion.
		    This will take about 1 minute.  Wait for the diskette light to 
                    turn off.
		7) Power down the machine.
 		8) Replace the jumper J8C2 with the jumper on pins 1 & 2.  Pin 1 is
   		    indicated with an arrow on the board.
		9) Replace the cover of the machine.
		10) Remove the diskette.
		11) Boot normally.
