GammaTech Internet Relay Chat 2.0 for OS/2 (tm) from SofTouch Systems

Oklahoma City, OK March 27, 1996 -- SofTouch Systems is pleased to announce the immediate availability of GammaTech Internet Relay Chat (IRC) for OS/2 version 2.0.

IRC is a Presention Manager (PM) based internet chat facility which enables users to conduct conversations with one or more people in "real time" across the internet. It permits people to hold public and private conversations simultaneously with people across the world without incurring long distance telephone charges.

IRC 2.0 builds on the successful base product released last October, 1995, with
several new features including CTCP sound support for sending and playing *.WAV files, automatic CTCP flood protection, public broadcast support, REXX scripting support, and the ability to access servers which require Ident.

"IRC users expect a lot out of a PM IRC product to exploit the flexibility found in OS/2 Warp, and we've delivered it" said Rick Jones, president and CEO of SofTouch Systems, Inc. 
"IRC users can now write REXX scripts to work directly with GammaTech IRC, or configure IRC to play .WAV files, send a preset private message, or send a file when specified text is received in a private message. These are just a few of the capabilities available to IRC 2.0 users" Jones added.

IRC 2.0 lists for $49.95. However, as part of this announcement, users can join the worldwide internet conversation network for an introductory price of $39.95. Existing 1.0x users may upgrade for just $19.95. Registered users who purchased IRC 1.0x after February 1, 1996, is entitled to a free upgrade directly from SofTouch Systems.
