Patch Name: PHSS_25962 Patch Description: s700_800 10.20 OV OB4.10 patch - CS packet Creation Date: 02/04/04 Post Date: 02/04/16 Warning: 02/05/20 - This Critical Warning has been issued by HP. - PHSS_25962 introduces behavior such that, following the installation of patch PHSS_25962, AND after the system is rebooted, there may be problems communicating with the Media Management Database (MMDB). - The following symptoms may be observed: 1. Unable to start the Media Management Daemon (MMD) 2. The MMD will start, but all Omniback commands that access the MMDB will hang, and then error. For example: # /opt/omni/bin/omnimm -list_pools Time out occurred. System error: [4] Interrupted system call Additionally, stopping and then restarting the Omniback server processes does not free up the MMD. - This behavior is corrected in patch PHSS_26353 released today. This Patch has to be installed on the Cell Manager host. OmniBack II server must be shutdown before installing the patch. Use the following command for shutting down the server: "/opt/omni/sbin/omnisv.sh stop". After the installation is complete, restart OmniBack II server using "/opt/omni/sbin/omnisv.sh start". PHSS_25962/PHSS_25963: NOTE! The import itself will fail, complaining about catalog and media management database not being in sync. But internally it will remove the suspective media position from the database which makes second step possible. 2. step: -------- Import the problematic tape again. This succeeds and results in imported medium and fixed database. NOTE! Problem HSLco31142: The complete solution will be available after CORE patch PHSS_25964/PHSS_25965 is released and installed.
