Defect Description:
	PHSS_20058:
	    Comdat bug fixes

	- JAGab18157:
segmentation fault when try to link linker with
	    dependdb-enabled ld32.be

	Resolution:
Problem was a coding error. Neccessary code changes
were made to fix the problem.

	- JAGaa95719:
PA32 linker: problem in export hash table allocation

	Resolution:
This was a enhancement made to make the symbol lookup
more efficient and provide a performance improvement.

	- JAGab67527:
Duplicate symbols with +I, shared library, java src

	Resolution:
The algorithm used to generated these checksums were
	    updated.

	- JAGab72684:
SIGBUS from 10.20 linker when building large aCC
	    application

	Resolution:
This was a comdat related problem which was fixed in
	     the code.

	- JAGab18660:
linker must use import stubs that save rp' in
	    shared libs

	Resolution:
The import stubs that don't save rp' are no longer
generated. This also produced significant performance
	    improvements.

	- JAGab24496:
	    linker(ld32)after PHSS_16404 patch links
	    slower with performance pragmas

	Resolution:
This was related to stub generation on null export
symbols which was corrected and which provided
	    significant performance improvements

	- JAGaa85148:
	    long symbol name crashes ar32

	Resolution:
The crash problem was solved by fixing to code to
	    support long symbol names.

	- JAGab73709:
gdb core dumps with because of invalid linkmap info

	Resolution:
The length of the linkmap subspace was incorrectly
	    generated. This was corrected.

linker asserts with comdat symbol processing

	Resolution:
Comdat symbol processing with +objdebug option was
	    updated to fix this problem.

	- JAGaa95694:
ld32 fails to generate long branch stub and output
	    invalid fixup error

	Resolution:
The algorithm used to detect if long branch stubs are
	    needed was updated.

	- JAGab16715:

	    ld -r

	Resolution:
Fixed to not merge unwind stub records for shared
	    library export stubs with relocation.

	PHSS_19981:
Corrects installation problem with Instant Ignition
	    (IUX)
	- JAGab73688:
ACR5: ld, ar, size commands not installed during IUX
	    install PHSS_17903
	Resolution:
Modify postinstall script of patch to circumvent
	    problem.

	PHSS_17903:
	    Object Debugging implementation

	Resolution:
	    Enhancement

	- JAGaa80382:
Failure for PBO instrumented child to update flow.data
	    (UX10.20)
	Resolution:
New environment variable "PBO_ARGV0" has been added to
specify the name of the executable to be profiled.

	- JAGaa80232:
ld -b doesn't report all duplicate symbol errors
	Resolution:
The check to find duplicate symbols and abort has been
is done only after all the som files have been
	    processed.

	- JAGaa93940:
ld -r link corrupts symbol_info field for the first
	    bss symbol
	Resolution:
Inappropriate comparision of space and subspace ids
caused this problem and this was fixed.

	- JAGaa80631
odump -unwind -titles missing try/catch description
	Resolution:
New output statements were added to explain the meaning
	    of the "e,I,c,s,a" flags.

	- JAGaa95862
OBJDEBUG - incorrect dir name is generated in linkmap
	Resolution:
Problem has been corrected to generate correct dir name.

	- JAGab00066:
ld32 core dumps when +linkmap is used and no dir name
	   specified with .o
	Resolution:
Specify the absolute path or relative path name for
	    each of the object files.

	- JAGaa95816
$DEBUG$ is not copied during non-objdbg links, if
	    $IGNDBG is present
	Resolution:
Using a global flag to record object mode and checking
the flag to determine whether or not to copy over the
DEBUG to the output file is appropriate.

	- JAGab03632:
$IGNDBG$ space in end.o file causes purify to fail
	Resolution:
A new bit field, "is_ignore_dbg", was added to the
space_dictionary record. This is used the linker to use
$DEBUG$ space instead of $IGNDBG$ space.

	- JAGab00075:
+smartbuild option needs to be backported to 10.X ld
	Resolution:
Changes were made to allow new option
'+Oreusedir=pathname' to the linker line. This pathname
will then be passed on to the ucomp as one of its
	    parameters.

	PHSS_17544:
	    Shared vtable implementation

	Resolution:
	    Enhancement.

	PHSS_15380:

	   see PHSS_10438

	PHSS_10436:
	   see PHSS_10438

	7. SR#:4701342071 DTS#:CLLbs08305
ADDIL's are improperly eliminated when -N is
	   used with +Ofastaccess
	8. SR#:4701347120 DTS#:CLLbs09044
fastbind(1) dumps core. fastbind(1) had several
small problems with reading/writing SOM files.

	PHSS_10204:
	   see PHSS_10205

	PHSS_10203:
	   see PHSS_10205

	PHSS_9400:
	1. Linker erroneously tries to read too many bytes from one
of the input object files; if it hits EOF, it incorrectly
	reports "unexpected EOF" in milli.a.
	2. The +e option explicitly exports one symbol while all
others are hidden. For PBO links, there are certain symbols
that require export; the linker needs to do this.
	3. Linker emits "absolute branch is out of range"
for dyncall_external due to internal housekeeping bug.
	4. Linker segv when called with -I and when attempting to
export a symbol which is a secondary definition.

	PHSS_9063:
Linker and icrt0.o performance fixes for PBO
and selective inline (ld/ucomp options) capabilities.

	PHSS_9062:
	  see PHSS_9063

	PHSS_8831:
	  see PHSS_9063

	PHSS_8555:
The /usr/lib/dld.sl file was removed from the patch
due to incompatibilities with certain programs, like
	/usr/sbin/sendmail.

	PHSS_8358:
Som tool support for magic number SHMEM_MAGIC

	PHSS_8075:
	Special release ld(1) patch.

	PHSS_7886:
ld did not correctly handle stripping of an a.out
with multiple init pointers per space.

	PHSS_7683:
A programming error regarding handling of more
than one input object. A variable containing
a section ($ANS$) index, was only being initialized
once for the entire program run, rather than
	once for each input object.

	PHSS_7452:
This patch is required for the next release of C++ and
FORTRAN.C++ and FORTRAN will emit fixups which are
	unknown to the previous ld.

	PHSS_7013:
dld.sl expected the shared library name to end in ".sl"
but did not check for this.

	PHSS_6246:
nm(1) bug in the handling of the -N switch

	PHSS_5956:
In some cases, specially when there is a long absolute
internal shlib name embedded in the shared library, the
linker will get a segmentation fault and dump core while
	processing that shared library.

	PHSS_5724:
In some cases, specially when there are a lot of shared
globals in a program, and many references to the shared
globals exist, a defect in the linker's data copying
elimination function causes missing import entries in the
	a.out resulted in core-dumped.
Using a ld's option from the C compiler ("-Wl,-Fc") to
disable data copying elimination or link the program archive
	would also fix this problem.
