If your ATI product came pre-installed in a complete system, you may already have a special driver version installed (eg. IBM, AST, Gateway 2000, NEC, Sony). ATI graphics chips are implemented on many 3rd party products. You may wish to contact your system manufacturer for drivers certified for use with your system, especially if the ATI chip is incorporated on the mainboard or motherboard. While this driver is currently not certified against ATI products based upon the mach64 GX chips we fully expect that it shall work satisfactorily. Version 2.2X of the mach64 Windows 95 Display Driver and ATI Player will continue to be available for use with mach64 GX products. Prior to installing the ATI Player, -Windows 3.1x/95 MUST BE CONFIGURED for the appropriate ATI v3.03 Windows Display Driver. -Windows 3.1X MUST have Video for Windows 1.1e installed. Video for Windows 1.1e is available from all ATI download sites. Download VFW11E.ZIP. PKUNZIP v2.04g is required to UNZIP this file. -Windows 95 MUST have DirectDraw installed. The current version of DirectX (6 MB, self-extracting file) can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/mediadev/download/isdk.htm Last tried on January 2, 1997. ***************************** 2.0 System Requirements This product requires a mach64 PCI or VLB graphics accelerator. ISA cards and VLB cards with the aperture disabled will not be supported. The minimum recommended system is a Pentium with a double speed CD ROM and Windows 3.1x/95. Windows 3.1X/95 must be configured with the v3.03 display driver before installing the ATI Player. ***************************** 3.0 Installation Notes To uncompress 64PLY303.EXE and install the ATI Player use the following procedure. 1. Start Windows 95. 2. Install version 3.03 of the Windows 95 Display Driver. 3. a) For Windows 3.1X install Video for Windows 1.1e if not already installed. b) For Windows 95 install DirectDraw if not already installed 4. a) Select Run from the Start icon in Windows 95 or File in Windows 3.1 Program Manager. OR b) For Windows 3.1X use File Manager or for Windows 95 Explorer to select 64PLY303.EXE and skip Step #5. 5. When asked for the file to run, enter 64PLY303.EXE from the directory it was downloaded into. 6. Follow the instructions displayed to uncompress the installation files into C:\ATI\SUPPORT\ATIPLAY. 7. The ATI SETUP utility will be run from C:\ATI\SUPPORT\ATIPLAY. 8. Follow the instructions displayed in ATI SETUP. 9. Restart the computer to run Windows 3.1X/95 using this new driver. After successfully installing the ATI Player, you can delete the contents of the directory C:\ATI\SUPPORT\ATIPLAY using the 'Remove ATI Player Temp Files' icon. We recommend that you keep a copy of 64PLY303.EXE, in case you need to install the ATI Player again. **************************** 4.0 Generating a Problem Report If contacting Technical Support regarding a problem you are experiencing please complete the Problem Report Wizard in the ATI Desktop Help Wizard. 1. Right click on the red ATI Toolbar icon. 2. Select Troubleshooting. 3. Select ATI DeskTop Help. 4. From the Troubleshooting menu select Problem Report Wizard. 5. Follow the instructions displayed in the help to complete the Problem Report.
