Application Name:   AdvanSys SCSI Utility
Version:   1.53
Purpose:   SCSI Host Adapter Firmware Upgrade Flash and Configuration Utility
Files Needed:   ADVANSYS SCSI UTILITY and appropriate BIOS binary files

Instructions:

[I]		FLASH NEW BIOS IMAGE

WE RECOMMAND YOU CLOSE ALL APPLICATIONS AND DISCONNECT ALL THE SCSI DEVICES ATTACHED TO THE ADAPTER YOU ARE GOING TO UPDATE

1)Create a folder <AdvanSys> on your Mac hard drive
2)Copy the AdvanSys 9-X.hqx file into < AdvanSys > on the Mac hard drive
3)Uncompress the AdvanSys 9-X.hqx file and 8 files and one package folder will appear
4)Double click on the AdvanSys SCSI Utility icon
5)A welcome screen will be displayed, follow screen instruction to continue
6)A list of AdvanSys adapters in your system will be displayed
  High-light the one you would like to work on, click OK
7)Click on < Update > in the left top corner
8)The following message box will appear:
< Please select firmware provided by AdvanSys >
9)Click OK to continue
10)Choose the Flash BIOS binary file, example  xxxxxxxx.BIN.  Click OK
11)The following message box will appear
< Updating AdvanSys SCSI host adapter firmware starts.  It may take up to one minute >
12)The following message box will appear
< Congratulations!!!   Firmware updated successfully. >
   Click OK
13)Click OK
14)The following message box will appear:
< SCSI host adapter configuration updated successfully!   Please reboot your system. >
   Click OK
15)You will be back to the Select Host Adapter dialog frame
    You can select another Adapter or Reboot your system.

[II] To set the SCSI Host adapter configuration and transfer speed to default click on the
< Default > tab, then click on the  < OK > tab.  The following message will appear:
< Firmware updated successfully.  Please reboot your machine. > Then click on the < OK > tab

[III] To make selective changes to the Host Adapter configuration click on all applicable tabs
in the SCSI Configuration.  The presence of an < x > denotes the feature is turned on.  Then
click the  < OK > tab.  The following message will appear:
< Firmware updated successfully.  Please reboot your machine. > Then click on the < OK > tab.
