the sound is played based on the highest voted samples for each step, so basically it's a multi-user 16-step music player
by clicking on a button you vote for the shown sample for the respective step. If you don't know what sample's what, there's a small hint when hovering over its picture
the more you click a sample for a step, the louder it will be played in the respective step. so if many people vote the same sample for one step it probably will be very prominent
by clicking the silence sample for a step you lower the volume of the other samples in that step
you can also increase or decrease the tempo of the music by clicking the respective buttons. however, that is - again - determined by all connected users on average (more or less)
