SeeIt!Ver 1.0 CD Player

Arun Venkataswamy

Thanks for trying SeeIt! CD Player. It is a regular CD Player, but with one difference. It also visualizes the music which is being played in many ways. From the standard power bar and spectrum analyser to interesting movements by balls and triangles. The selection of the mode of display is very simple... Just click on the button with the required icon on the top. A complete explanation is given below. The basic idea is a display based on the frequeny spectrum of the music which is being played. You can see the basic frequency spectrum of the music by selecting the spectrum option. The spectrum analyser shows the low frequency (Drums, bass and voice) on the left end and the high frequency (violin etc) on the right. When you select display options like the circles and triangles, the display shows each frequency group in the form of expanding and contracting objects depending upon the power of the frequency group it represents.

TroubleShooting.

You should set up your mixer setting so that the computer can record from a CD. This is simple. In case you can record a song being played from the CD using the 'Sound Recorder' software provided with Win95/Win98, you can run the software straight away. If you can't record using sound recorder, you should select the CD audio as the recording source for your sound card using the audio mixer. This done by Selecting 'Volume Control' option either inside Entertainment (Under Accessories) folder in the start menu or the Accessories folder in the start menu. After the mixer is displayed, select Options in the menu and the properties sub option. Now when the properties dialog is displayed, Select 'Recording' in the 'Adjust Volume for' group. Also check whether the 'CD Audio' option is checked in the 'Show the following volume controls' group. Now press OK. The computer will display another mixer with an CD audio option. Below this slider control, there will be a check box called 'Select'. Select this option. Please note that some cards provide multiple sources for recording. Now you are done with the setup and you can run the software.
