Using PC FileSAFE
Move the mouse cursor over the Start Button on the bottom tool bar left corner.
Right Click once.
Position mouse cursor over File Safe and Left Click once.
FileSafe Password Box Appears.
Enter Your password and Click the OK button.
(If the password was valid then go to the next step else reenter password.)
"SCC File Safe Status screen" appears.
HEADINGS:
File Name - This is the file name you have added to the lock list.
Lock Symbol - YES means file IS currently LOCKED (in the SAFE.)
- NO means file is NOT currently LOCKED (out of SAFE.)
Lock Name - Name of file when locked
Size - number of bytes file contains
Created Date - When file was locked.
Buttons Down Right Side of Window.
ADD
To add a file to the lock list. A Window appears with explore functions. Highlight the folder or files you wish to PUT (ADD) in the SAFE when you lock it, and click the OK button. The "Add to Safe" window appears to show the file added to the lock list. Click the Close button and you return to the "SCC File Safe Status screen" .
REMOVE
To Remove a file or files from the list to be LOCK in the SAFE. Highlight the file or files you wish to remove from the list in the File Name Column. Then Click the Remove button. The Remove from Safe window appears showing the files removed. Click the Close button and you return to the "SCC File Safe Status screen" .
LOCK ALL
This LOCKS the SAFE. When depressing this button ALL files (currently on the lock list) in the File Name column on the status screen will be place in the SAFE. Locked Files appear in RED.
UNLOCK ALL
This UNLOCKS the SAFE. When depressing this button ALL files (currently on the lock list) in the File Name column on the status screen will be OPENED and Removed for viewing from the SAFE. Opened Files Appear in BLUE.
PREFERENCE
This button opens up the File Safe Preference window.
"Files or Directories that can not be locked" Box shows what File Safe will NOT LOCK.
Buttons
"Add Exception" button . using like explore you highlight folders or files you do not want to be able to lock even by mistake.
"Delete Exception" button allows you to highlight the files or folder from the "Files or Directories that can not be locked" box to be removed so they can be locked by File Safe.
"Change Password" button allows you to change your password to access File Safe.
"Recover Lock List" button . This is a failsafe procedure to recover a lock list that has been deleted by accident.
"SAVE" button saves all current preferences
"Close" button returns you to the "File Safe Status Window without changing any preferences.
Check Boxes
"Lock/Unlock All Files under a folder"
This allows you to high Light an entire folder to be added to the safe when the box is checked.
"Use Bitmap Menu in Shell/Extension" This causes the Large Fonts to be used on the pop up menu bar from the Start Button.
ABOUT
Opens About SCC File Safe Window.
