Create your own maps
The maps that can be viewed in the icon shown below, it can be modified and update with your own maps.

Tip: We recommend to unzip your file in
c:\My Documents. If you change of directory, go to the Maps Viewer.txt file and
redirect the root of the maps
To create maps you must need:
1.PDA Toolbox Data
2.Maps Viewer
They can be found in the folder
To import a map into your Palm, you should process as below:
*Choose your maps corresponding to your travel needs :
On the Internet, world-wide digital maps can be found through MapQuest, MapBlast;
Aeronautic maps and flight plans are available at Aeroplanner.com;
Use CDrom atlases for U.S and international digital maps through DeLorme Street
Atlas, AAA Map'n'Go, Microsoft Expedia Streets 98, etc...
Scan your own paper map.
*Resize you maps to a maximum of 160x145 to fit on the palm screen.
*Save your maps into the Maps folder with the name Maps viewer0001.bmp to Maps viewer0006.bmp You can overwrite the existing default maps.
*Convert your maps to a Palm readable maps database using PDA Toolbox Data Conversion
Maps conversion. PDA Toolbox converter support .bmp Windows bitmaps. It converts automatically black & white maps to a database .pdb format. Get PDA Toolbox Data
Launch the converter and select the transfer definition file we are using by clicking on the "Select Transfer Def. File" choose in the Maps folder located into America folder the file Maps viewer.xdf. Doing so will auto-populate the dialog boxes as above. You will notice as well that the " XDF File Info" boxes are also populated. This gives you specific information about the .pdb file the original file was converted from. Click the "Convert It" button and a message will notify you if the transfer was successful and how many records were transferred.
Memory space limitation. Remember that your Palm memory capacity is limited, a B/W map is twice smaller than an equivalent sized gray scale map, which is smaller than a color map.
How much memory does a map take? The size of a map (in pixels) + its color are determinant to know its memory space.
Width * Height / 8 for Black and White maps
Width * Height / 4 for grayscale (4 levels of greyscale)
Width * Height / 2 for grayscale (16 levels of greyscale)
Width * Height for 8 bits color maps
HotSync your maps database. To get the map database loaded in your Palm, convert de .XDF to .pdb by pressing the Convert it buttoninstall the Maps Viewer.pdb file in your Palm using the Palm Install tool and HotSync.
Now it is time to start iTravel application to visualize your maps and plan your trip. Then go for a ride.
