================================================================ Title : Kustok: Newcastle Brick Plant Author : Randall (blindtypist) Date : May 2001 Filename : kustok.zip File contents : kustok.bsp : kustok.txt Email Address : blindtypist@yahoo.com Home Page : Description : Quake Deathmatch and Singleplayer ================================================================ Play Information Single Player : YES! Deathmatch : Yes Recommended No. Bots : 1-on-1 Comments : Pushes the limits of pocketQuake 0.061 ================================================================= Installation instructions Ensure you have the REGISTERED version of Quake on your device. Modified files and custom maps will NOT run without the registered version of Quake. Put "kustok.bsp" in your "\quake\id1\maps\" folder (create the directory structure if necessary). ================================================================= Playing the Singleplayer Game To enable Singleplayer add these lines to your AUTOEXEC.CFG file: deathmatch 0 skill 1 map kustok The SKILL command can be numbers 0-4: skill 0 = easy skill 1 = normal skill 2 = hard skill 4 = nightmare KNOWN Problems: The SinglePlayer game has additional areas not seen in Deathmatch. Those areas tend to be high poly and a bit choppy, so I cut them out of Deathmatch mode. DON'T run any MODS while trying to play SinglePlayer. Specifically, the reaperbot unplugs the AI of the monsters and basically lobotomizes them- they won't even shoot. The Reaperbot mod also prevents the Ogre and Zombie from showing up. I don't know what other problems may arise with other mods. Bots work fine in Deathmatch- in fact I recommend them. ================================================================= Construction Editor : Worldcraft 1.6 Graphics apps : Wally 1.53 and Paintshop Pro 6.0 New Sounds : No New Textures : 99% Build Time : a while Special thanks : Dan East for porting Quake to PPC : Clifton Williams, 999, Chuck, Diego Cueva and Matt Keys for feedback =================================================================== Boring History and More Ramblings This is a simplistic representation of an existing brick manufacturing plant in Washington State. When I first walked into the plant in 1994, I was thinking what a badass map it would make for Doom (Doom was VERY popular at the time). It has taken me this long to get off my ass and create it. =================================================================== randall blindtypist@yahoo.com *hosted at pocketmatrix.com
