Description : This is a 7 map wad for GZDoom. It has new enemies, new guns, new textures and new music. The Story So Far : You are called into action once again. This time you'll parachute on to the lost island called Jungata. This island was once inhabited by a small group of settlers long ago that had lived a relatively peaceful life until one day, the island's inhabitants had completely cut off communication with the outside world. Rumors of the island being taken over by some blood thirsty demons had started floating around. Some sightings of heavily armed mercenaries roaming the island have sprouted up too. Are these things related somehow? Command had sent in several agents some time ago to investigate, but none of them had reported back yet. Just what the Hell is going on over there? Very loosely based on an island I made for an unreleased RPG Maker 2003 game and a really old unreleased Doom 2 map from many years ago. Also loosely based on my Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 submission called Lost Caverns of Jungata. Trench Shotgun sprites are from Sonik.o.fan. Its melee attack sprites are also from Sonik.o.fan The M16 was from JoeyTD from the Realm667 site. I changed the firing sound to the M16 from Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare. The pickup sprites were from JoeyTD and slightly edited by me. The AK47 was from JoeyTD from the Realm667 site. The firing sound is the AK47 from CoD 4 Modern Warfare. The Marathon Shotgun was from Marathon. I also did some slight edits to it (added muzzleflash graphics) The Zica Pulse Rifle (Plasma Rifle replacement) is from Eriance's Eriguns mod. The Army Ranger sprites (Chaingunguy replacement) are from the old Marines Doom mod. The Shotgunner Mercenary (Shotgun guy) sprites is from the 150 Skins pack (with some slight edits to it) The Pistol Marine (Zombieman) is modified from the Friendly Doom marine pack. The Elite Commando (replaces Lost Soul) is from DeeDeeOZ The PMC Mercenary (SS Wolfenstein enemy replacement) is from my old Spec-Ops mod. The AK47 Soldier sprites (other Chaingunguy replacement) are from the 150 Skins pack. The Pygmy Demon sprites (replaces Spectre) are from Tsran908. The majority of the new textures are from OTEX by Ola Björling (ukiro). The new textures for the Ship Schematics are from Tyrian. Some additional textures were made from scratch. The Doom Marine seen in the title screen is from Tommy Galano 5. The AK47 is a rapid fire assault rifle that has a medium/high rate of fire and is useful for taking out enemies in close-mid range combat. The Trench Shotgun is a pump action shotgun that is useful for taking out enemies in close-mid range combat. The Trench Shotgun also has a melee attack where you swing the shotgun to smack enemies with the butt of the gun. The Marathon Super Shotgun is a sawed off lever action, double barrel shotgun. It's from the Bungie game, Marathon. It fires a bit faster than the regular Super Shotgun, but there is a bit more spread than the SSG. The Zica Pulse Rifle fires charged plasma energy in a fairly rapid fashion. It fires slower than the regular Doom Plasma Rifle, but its shots are a bit stronger. Pressing the secondary fire button fires a piercing railgun like projectile. It uses up a bit more ammo though so be careful when you use the railgun function! Keep in mind ammo for this gun is scarce too, so conserve your ammo! *New Enemies* The Pistol Soldier is the Zombieman replacement. He is slightly weaker than the Zombieman. He drops some bullets when you kill him. The Shotgunner Mercenary is the Shotgun Guy replacement. He drops the shotgun when you kill him. The UAC Soldier is the Chaingun Guy's replacements. He shoots a short burst of shots at you. He drops the AK47 when you kill him. The Army Ranger is the other Chaingun Guy's replacement. He shoots three three-round-burst shots at you. He drops the M16 when you kill him. The PMC Mercenary replaces the Wolfenstein SS. He shoots a short burst of gunfire at you. He also can charge at you while shooting at you. He drops some bullets if you kill him. The Elite Commando replaces the Lost Soul. They're faster and stronger than the UAC Soldier and the PMC Mercenary. They can shoot in bursts, hip-fire and maintain rapid fire (although at the cost of accuracy). Plus, they can also smash your face in the butt of their gun if you get too close. The Pygmy Demon (Spectre replacement) are smaller and faster than the average Pinky Demon. They have less health than the average Pinky Demon, however, they can leap at you from a distance to bite your face off so exercise extreme caution when you encounter them! The Mech Worker replaces the Pain Elemental. These little mech suits that were originally used to do maintenance work in dangerous environments. They have since been retrofitted with a mini laser blaster on its arm. They shoot slow, but they can still do a good amount of damage to you, especially if you have several mech workers shooting you. They can also attack you at close range by swinging its rear mounted claws at you. The Guardian Mech (Spider Mastermind replacement) is a mech designed primarily for anti-personnel combat. It has an arm cannon equipped with 3 mini laser blasters and a micro missile launcher. It can also shoot out gas bombs to try and lure you out of cover. Its heavy barrage from its arm cannon can be devastating if you aren't quick enough to dodge its attacks, but you can easily destroy it if you just circle strafe and take cover while blasting it with your Super Shotgun or the Zica Pulse Rifle (if you have enough ammo saved up). The Dark Inquisitor (Cyberdemon replacement) is a large prototype mech that is originally designed to pacify riots but has been further upgraded to fire charged laser shots and fire micro missiles. It can also fire tear gas and leap at you while firing a barrage of micro missiles near its feet. *New Maps* Title Screen Music, Intermission Music and Text Screen Music are from Memento Mori. MAP01: Welcome to Jungata MUSIC: Ice Fields by Samuli Sipola You land on the beach of the jungle island called Jungata. The village you encounter seems to have been recently abandoned. There are mercenaries patrolling the island and digging through the ruins. On top of that, demons are roaming around the jungles. You will encounter a smaller, quicker but weaker variant of the regular pink demons called Pygmy Demons. These small red bastards can pounce on you and bite your face off. Be careful when you encounter them! MAP02: Lost Caverns of Jungata MUSIC: Disposition by Mark Klem The cave that you entered through at the edge of the forest in the previous level is dark and spacious. Underground rivers and streams have flooded quite a few areas, making some bodies of waters extremely dangerous to jump into. The flowing rivers can be fast and unpredictable, sweeping any unsuspecting explorer off their feet and plunge into the dark waters, killing you instantly. You can find a brand new weapon, the Marathon Supershotgun, placed neatly on an altar. Find your way to the exit to proceed further in to the island. MAP03: Deep in the Jungle MUSIC: Ascent of the Sky Eagle by Necros After leaving the lost caverns by jumping into an underground river current, the current spits you out of the caverns and into a lake. Deep in the demon infested jungle, you'll find a canyon surrounded by dark water and further along in the jungle, you'll run into a large river with fast currents next to a large waterfall. You will eventually find the secret entrance to a secret military base. MAP04: Secret Cavern Base MUSIC: Escape by Necros Inside the entrance of the secret military base, you'll find a security checkpoint and a laser barrier. Thankfully, the button to disable it is located right in front of the window at the checkpoint. Shoot it out to disable it and continue on your way inside. The military base has your basic amenities to live a somewhat comfortable life (well, as far as living underground in a remote jungle island in the middle of nowhere can get...) There's a mess hall, a recreation room, sleeping quarters, showers and toilets and a small weapons storage room. In the lower levels, you'll find the weapons research facility and a demon research lab. In the weapons research facility, there appears to be a new weapon being developed codenamed the Zica Pulse Rifle. No one really knows what's going on in the demon research labs but I can't imagine any good things happening down there. Proceed with caution. Next to the Secret Cavern Base, there is the underground Thermal Power Plant. Shut it down and that should shut down this base's operations for good. MAP05: Geothermal Power Plant MUSIC: Go Down by Alexander Brandon (AKA Siren) The underground Geothermal Power Plant generates the power for the secret cavern base. Shutting it down should be easy enough. ...However, the shut down sequencer is being heavily guarded by a variety of demons, mercenaries and heavily armored mechs. When you activate the shutdown sequencer, take the shuttle back to the base. MAP06: Good bye Jungata MUSIC: Anger's Reprise by David Shaw You've successfully activated the shutdown sequencer, now what? You escape! The shuttle was not at the geothermal power plant's station so you had to make your way back to the Secret Cavern Base by foot. When you finally arrive at the Secret Cavern Base, you notice the door near the entrance that you initially entered through previously has now been activated. Go through that door to reach the elevator. That'll take you up a staircase that leads up to the hangar and the aeronautics research facility. Raise the platform that has the experimental fighter jet up to the surface and then fly away to escape the island. Of course, doing all that is not going to be an easy task! MAP07: Mission Complete. MUSIC: The Laidback Funk by Reed You've escaped the island, but you end up crashing on a small sand bar several miles away from Jungata. You activate the distress beacon on the ship's console to ping your location to the rescue team that is supposed to meet with you. You lose all hope until... ..... ...Your team finally arrives to pick you up! Your Commander and even your family greets you on shore! Go to your family and give them a big hug! You embrace your family in a big hug and then you salute your Commander. Everyone boards the rescue rafts and head towards the patrol boat stationed nearby to take everyone home. The End! ...For now.
