Comments: Even though time was the goal for this assignment, I went ahead and did the dance first, "instant carnage" or not on every LMP. My brother convinced me that a good speedy gonzales should finish with some extra health (say 72%) to show that he could continue on at the same pace for multiple levels without wearing down. The hardest level was ironically the "easy" level, E1M7. I spent more time on that one than any of the others. It's not quite perfect. I wish I could have missed a few less shots, and dodged a few more fireballs, but there isn't much time for finesse on this one so I just tried to cause as much carnage as possible on the way through. I used the shotgun because the chaingun takes too much time to pick up, and the shotgun is almost as effective with good aim. E2M9 was cake. I did the dance a few seconds late so I could try to hide around a corner from the four barons, but they found me anyway. Try to ignore the baron's fireball hitting me during the dance, it was a pitiful and unsuccessful attempt to keep me from finishing with 200% health, 100% items, and 100% secrets. There isn't much time for 100% kills, so I did a circle around the cacodemons to make them dizzy, and headed straight for the exit. E1M9 was pretty easy too once I figured out that doing the dance first got all the former humans and sergents to fight among themselves and out of my way later. Grabbing the chaingun early was a key too, and I used up almost all my ammo by the end. My free interpretation was E3M9 because it was listed as "hardest". That might be true for a Doom Master, but a Speedy Gonzales can run right past the cyberdemon, grab the cheese (rocket launcher and invincibility, oh yes!), and be out of the room before he knows what happened. Author info: Who me? That's a boring subject. I'm in the Phoenix area and I'm open for Deathmatch challenges, or comments about these LMPs. Contact me via email if you wish.
