============================================================================ How to Create Sliding Doors By: Aphelion (a.k.a. PBoev) ============================================================================ ############################################################################ ############################################################################ 1. First of all, you have to make the two rooms and leave space for sliding doors in the middle. Do it like this: ___________________________________________________________ | | | | | | | | | | | | |_________________ _________________| | | /_____ _____\ /|\ ~~~~=- -=~~~~ ' \-----~~~~ ~~~~-----/ WHITE LINES (ALL) | | ________________| |_________________ | | | | | | | | |__________________________________________________________| ############################################################################ ############################################################################ 2. Now you have to make red lines around the sectors to be sliding doors. Such as: ___________________________________________________________ | | | | | | | | | | | | |_________________ _________________| |.......................| /A____ : ____B\ ~~~~=- : -=~~~~ ... = red lines C----~~~~ : ~~~~----D \...........:.........../ ________________| |_________________ | | | | | | | | |__________________________________________________________| ############################################################################ ############################################################################ 3. Then move the veritices A, B, C and D onto the red lines to create the following. Note that the white lines will go over the red ones: ___________________________________________________________ | | | | | | | | | | | | |_________________ ________________| | | ^^^^^^^^^^^^....^^^^^^^^^ ^ . ^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^....^^^^^^^^^ | | ________________| |_________________ | | | | | | | | |__________________________________________________________| Red lines = . Overlapping white and red lines = ^^^ ############################################################################ ############################################################################ 4. Finally, lo-tag the red sectors that outline the white sliding door sectors with a 25. Then place two Sector Effectors in each part of the red lines that have a lo-tag of 15. Each should be facing the way in which you want the door to swing: ........................................................................ _______________________________ . __________________________________ | . | | >#. #<| ______________________________| . |_________________________________ ........................................................................ Red lines = ... White sliding door lines = __ || Sector effector = # Rotation of SE = < or > (should be facing either left or right) For example, the SE on the right door should face (be rotated) left and the SE on the left door should be rotated to face right. Be sure to add a GSPEED sprite -- it's the only way to make a sliding door open up all the way, if it's a really long one... I didn't include them in the example map, because it would confuse you even more... ====---- Look at SLIDING.MAP if you need any ----===== ====---- more help with sliding doors! ----===== ############################################################################ ############################################################################ NOTE: This will only help you make sliding doors, and the ones you make will have a few bugs. You will discover how to fix them yourself, but at least you can now make sliding doors. ============================================================================ By: Radoslav Boev (a.k.a.
