Nothing else, and nothing more! These samples gives an unique atmospherical sound, that we on purpose has created from the beginning of Sound`s birth! This is the clear concept of Sound, and this will never get altered -So you better get use to it, or switch to another mu- sic channel! You are admitted to forward as many modules as you want, but only two modules per musician will get published as a maximum in each issue. Who select these modules? Christine De La Queen, with a nice assistance from our musician B-Toven. When you send your module - It shouldn`t combine any chip samples what so ever, or at least it shouldn`t peak right into my ears! I simply dislike that ugly sound! You can pos- sibly choose your own tempo, as Sound works with CIA timing. A module should NOT enclose more than 80 Kb, and that means unpacked of- course!! Remember to check your module in The Player and fill out the "Question Sheet", before you actually send! If this Question Sheet ain`t included, we will not include your module, no matter how good it is! The Schedule of Sound Features As much appreciated from a lot of musician, we try to tip toe trough a broad fan of music styles. Each Sound issue has a special selec- ted feature. The first time Sound broadcasted, Sound featured "Futuristic Music", the last Sound issue specialized in Funk music, and this very one is surely featuring Trance! But what is up for the next couple of Sound issues? Sound #4, will feature "Touch", which is equally the same as the CD collections on the market called "Moods" or "Pure Moods" etc. What we are looking for is slow temporized music, with a atmospherical touch. Sound #5 will feature "Folk Music". "Argh!", you probably say, but what to be more fun than listening to Scotch Bagpipe music, Tennessees Mouth organ, African Samba, Norwegian Folk mu- sic or Indian traditional, or what ever you would find amusing experimenting with?!? That is it so far -Any suggestions to Sound 6, then don`t hesitate!! Let us know!! Voting for the Sound Hit List You can support Sound, by voting on all of Sounds published modules! Remember to examine all modules from Sound 1 trough Sound 3,before you write down your votes. Three votes are needed. The best module should receive a first place, the second best the second place, and the last great module on the third spot. If you want a copy of Sound, you have to send three disks. Two disks for Sound 4, the third for postal. You gotta include a votesheet too. If you`r from DK you can send two disks and a 5 Dkr. stamp instead. You will get a copy of Sound ASAP! Guaranteed! Please consider voting for Sound!! .sPOOn. This column is for tips, tricks and general in- formation to and from a Sound Surfer. I, CDLQ simply dedicate this space for 1-2 Sound Sur- fers per issue. If there is anything you would like to share with another Sound Surfer, then please let me know so as I will have a fair chance booking you! For now, a Sound Surfer is a scener whom has had a module published in Sound, but sooner or later this function will get deleted entirely, and a new Sub Group will arise, called the Sound Surfer Society. Hopefully by the next Sound, I will be able to present some of the members... A 3rd thing: I would like to inform a bit about deadlines. Keep your promises, and keep the deadlines!! You harm not only me, but Shayera, and all the other musicians!!! Next time I`ll simply ignore you. And that goes for everybody else involved! A 4th thing, information! If you send a mo- dule for us to use in Sound, then please in- clude info on the modules. It really pisses me off! Next time, I`ll just ignore your sending! Christine De La Queen SURPERIOR BEING Soft Trance Composer ...................... Jukebox/Talent Duration ........................ 2.34 minutes Lenght ......................... 117.960 bytes Tempo ........................... 125 bpm, f03 Samples ................................... 19 This soft intro mod.welcomes you all to this trance show. Not only would we like to thank Jukebox/Talent for his touching module, but al- so point out that Juke is one among the few, who loves to make varied music of all genres. When he started on this specific module, he then pointed out, that he`d never tried to com- pose trance music before... Well, you`ve out- smarted yourself this time, Jukebox! TRENDY Mix Trance Composer .............. Ramosa/Passion/Denmark Duration ........................ 1.39 minutes Lenght .......................... 72.620 bytes Tempo ...................... 125 bpm, f06, f0F Samples ................................... 21 Ramosa kicks Sound #3 right off into the sky with this incredible cool funky trance tune. After a hefty talkative Ramosa claiming that if we didn`t care for his module just because it sounded a bit chippy,he would just not deal with Sound any longer. Anyhow, after asking him to change one single chip sample into another more suitable sample for Sound, and after we never heard from him, we thought it would be right to change this sample our self, and use this module, which ofcourse were the purpose from the beginning. We are NOT out to harm you at any way Ramosa, we simply want to help.. as we care! This module is just too good to for- get! DREAM SEQUENCE Trance Composer ............ Sonic/Nerve Axis/England Duration ........................ 2.30 minutes Lenght .......................... 79.508 bytes Tempo ........................... 140 bpm, f03 Samples ................................... 09 This is surely the dream sequence... Angels leads us trough the sky, and gives us a worth- ful memory of independently effects that makes our knees go jello. This module is just so in- credible, not only does the various effects work perfectly, but the crossing between one form to another is definitely well composed... JUST LET GO! Trance Composer .............. Subsonic/Spoon/Denmark Duration ........................ 2.52 minutes Lenght .......................... 77.000 bytes Tempo ........................... 125 bpm, f05 Samples ................................... 09 Who would ever dare to make a rhythm so dif- ferently? Non, we presume! This module gives a different view of the trance being produced today. Not only does it sound great, it also gives every listener a chance to back out and relax a bit. TIME 4 CORTISOL Interlude Composer ...... Kallestrup/Independent/Denmark Duration ........................ 2.15 minutes Length .......................... 79.150 bytes Tempo ................. 125 bpm, f06, f03, f09 Samples ................................... 09 We feel honoured to include this interlude, as this interlude surely is 1 of the greatest for Sound ever composed. Time for Cortisol is hard to put words on. We actually believe it would be a shame ever to put words on this module, as this module makes your mind wander off into what ever direction you might need... ELEVEN TOES Dance Trance Composer ............ Sonic/Nerve Axis/England Duration ................ Looped, 1.40 minutes Lenght .......................... 79.062 bytes Tempo ................................ 140 bpm Samples ................................... 14 With this Dance Trance number we have inclu- ded in this Sound is not only the rare trance, but also the common dance trance, that are be- ing showed on MTV and the various radio sta- tions. Dance Trance is in everybodys hearts, so we sincerely hope you like this piece too.. TRANCEDITION 3 Hardcore Trance Composer ............ The Loop/Artwork/Germany Duration ........................ 2.13 minutes Length .......................... 79.066 bytes Tempo ........................... 125 bpm, f04 Samples ................................... 17 You would be in a sorry state, if you didn`t turn up the volume of your hi-fi on this modu- le. Because this module surely indicates high volume. With its cool flipping between forms, we end up with a cross between the best Amiga music and some of Prodigys older music.. It is just too pumping! 4T-TWO Trance Composer .............. Subsonic/Spoon/Denmark Duration ........................ 3.25 minutes Lenght .......................... 77.000 bytes Tempo ................. 125 bpm, f02, f03, f05 Samples ................................... 06 What makes a Subsonic? You simply add peace- ful music together with bumping drums, - Not only drums, but another style.. Another rythm! It is so easy with Subsonic, he`ll just take your hand, and go for a walk trough the sym- phony. He really shows you the meaning of wal- king up and down! MINUSSYRE Interlude Composer .............. Cytron/Cadaver/Denmark Duration ........................ 1.52 minutes Lenght .......................... 61.680 bytes Tempo ................................ 112 bpm Samples ................................... 07 This is not music! This is something else - Something indefinable unique! A man daring to compose such a different almost mystique kind of music, and then dares to send to us, surely needs a place among the already obvious ones.. Make out your own story to this piece! FALL-BACK Hardcore Trance Composer .......................... Maz/Sweden Duration ........................ 5.27 minutes Length .......................... 43.000 bytes Tempo ........................... 164 bpm, f06 Samples ................................... 11 We asked the man to be extremely creative this time. We told him, we wanted new sounds, new samples - Effective samples! And what did we get? All of the above and a lot more than that! One track from 1 pattern could have been easily played alone, without any meaningless sound! This is how powerful and thought trough this module really is! DARK TRANCE (Celebration Track) Trance Composer .............. Subsonic/Spoon/Denmark Duration ........................ 5.27 minutes Lenght .......................... 76.058 bytes Tempo ....... 125 bpm, f01, f02, f03, f06, f0C Samples ................................... 09 Against the rules of Sound and Subsonic not knowing about a 3rd mod in Sound,we have taken action to celebrate our newest member of the .sPOOn. family. Subsonic wanted this module to be among the two chosen ones for Sound,so lets make a walk-trough trough Subsonics univers, the univers he knows the best. May you never change this world!!! FIRST PLACE with FUNK IN BANGLADESH Funk Composer ........ Braintumour & Heywood/Norway Duration ........................ 1.44 minutes Lenght .......................... 78.462 bytes Tempo ...................... 125 bpm, f03, f04 Samples ................................... 17 After days of internal fights of placements, we finally pronounce Braintumour & Heywood as the winners of this round. You probably recall their last placing, which ofcourse were a dar- ing first place! Well, we are actually getting a bit tired of B&H, so would someone out there be so kind to & kick their ass`. Do something, man! Well, congrats we guess! SECOND PLACE with OUT OF RANGE Funk/Rock Composer .......................... Maz/Sweden Duration ........................ 3.57 minutes Lenght .......................... 79.812 bytes Tempo ........................... 128 bpm, f05 Samples ................................... 09 Only one point from the famous Bangladesh brothers we have here on the second place Maz, with a kicking funk/rock module. The race was just so incredible close. So close that it gave us the goosebumps! Hmm.. Well, one day Maz will overtake the first place, that we are sure of! Right on! THIRD PLACE with THEME OF SOUND Techno Composer ............... B-Toven/Spoon/Denmark Duration ........................ 3.32 minutes Lenght .......................... 79.916 bytes Tempo ............. 125 bpm, f08, 132 bpm, f06 Samples ................................... 15 More people have been voting this time, and as a result, B-Tovens Sound Theme from S#1 has just walked in and placed it self on the third place. B-Toven was hoping 4 a placement among the 3 best with his newest Sound module Try Out.He never thought that the Sound Theme were still valid in this game... Well, that`s how things can go! Congrats to you too... LMB - Pause RMB - Exit Welcome to the 3rd issue of Sound - The best Trance of the scene is united in this edition. Overall everyone thinks that trance and techno is very simple and indeed ef- fortless to compose. I can hereafter declare that se- veral modules has been ig- nored in the selection round. Simply for the fact that these mods were not capable of showing origi- nality. I wanted to raise a cluster of modules that would give the listener a whole new inspiration and conception of trance music Frankly,it`s not difficult to produce what everyone else does, both in the sce- ne and on the general mar- ket. Nor is it satisfying for any partners - neither the listener or the Sfx`er him/her self. Therefor it has ofcourse also been se- verely hard for the musi- cians of Sound III to con- trive these modules. A few things before we hit the greets.. The Sound critics in the "slide" was, if any doubt, surely legitimate. The scanned picture of Ramosa/Passion was a source from the man himself. It so happens that Ramosa is a bit tired of Sound and its concept. Es- pecially the rule about chip samples. On top of that he had included a mod for Sound III and scanned pictures of him self.So as he thought negative about Sound, I thought it would be fun to pull his leg for just a few weeks. Wonders what he is going to say to that? - (Ramosa - I just couldn`t help it). A new screen has been attached to Sound, as the user sy- stem in Sound 2, not to confuse with the design, was more than just plain stupid!! Remember the hit- list thingy? Well, the pro- blems are all gone! Now there is even more space 4 my wice words! C D L Q Subsonic/Ex Disaster... Subsonic has joined Spoon! Subsonic will be managing Sound together with CDLQ..
