What This Package Does
-----------------------
This package provides the display driver for Windows 2000/Windows XP users.


This package enables or updates the display function of the following ThinkPad computers:
- ThinkPad A31/A31p
- ThinkPad R40/R40e
- ThinkPad T30
- ThinkPad T40/T40p
- ThinkPad X31

To determine if you should update the display driver, refer to the "Summary of Changes" section.

To update the display driver, refer to the "Installation Instructions" section.

Installation instructions
-------------------------- 
1. Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
2. Extract the video drivers to the hard disk drive.
3. Click 'Start', then click 'Run'. 
4. In the Run dialog window, type C:\DRIVERS\WXP\DISPLAY\SETUP.EXE
   to install the video driver. Click OK to start the installation process.
   If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead.
5. When the Welcome window appears, click the Next button.
6. At the Software Licence Agreement screen, if you agree, click Yes.
7. At the Select Components screen, click Express.
8. At the Setup Complete screen, select Yes, I want to restart my computer now.
9. Click Finish, then reboot the system.


Unattended install
------------------
This is for system administrators' use only.
1. Start Windows and logon with administrative privileges.
2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
3. Click Start then click Run. 
4. Type C:\DRIVERS\%directory%\DISPLAY\SETUP /K -SMS and click OK.


Determining which version is installed
-------------------------------------- 
1. Click Start, then click Control Panel. 
2. Click Appearance and Themes. 
3. Click Display. 
4. Select Settings. 
5. Click Advanced. 
6. Select Options. The version number is located in the Version Information field.
