The included disk image is in ROMDOS format and contains
all the source code, graphics, programs etc. related to
the development of Y.S.E.L. , a game I was writing for
the Amstrad CPC range of 8-bit microcomputers in the early
1990's.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The disk contents are organised as follows:

USER 0: miscellaneous programs, data files etc.
USER 1: Z80 assembly language source code
USER 2: graphics files (made with The Image System)

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

To get the game up and running, do the following:

1. Load the file 0:DATA.BIN to address &40h
2. Load the file 0:CODE.BIN to address &6000h
3. Call &6461h

The game should then start.

To reassemble the source code you need to load the
file 1:YSEL into your assembler and assemble it. I
used Arnor's MAXAM assembler, you may need to edit
the source to adapt it to other packages.

All the included source code, data files, programs
etc. are placed in the public domain and may be used
in any way you choose. If you do use any of the files
from the disk I'd appreciate a short email telling me
what you're up to, but its not a requirement!

Finally, I hope you enjoy what little of YSEL there
is or perhaps even get some use from the source
code or graphics files included on the disk. Please
feel free to drop me a line to tell me what you think!

John Girvin,
May 1999.
