                TURBO TRANSFER PC -> CPC V0.92
                ------------------------------

            (c) Tino Longueira. A Corua 04/02/2000.

1.INTRODUCTION

   Turbo Transfer allows you to copy DSK and EDSK image files from PC to CPC
using the parallel interface. It's possible to transfer two heads images.

2.HARDWARE NEEDED

  * Fast 386 or better.
  * AMSTRAD CPC 6128 (664 not tested but should works?!).
  * Parallel cable compatible with PCPARA by Marco Vieth. (See CPCEMU).

3.FILES

  TURBOTR.EXE PC side of Turbo Transfer.
  TURBOTR.DSK CPC side of Turbo Transfer.
  README.TXT            You are reading it!

4.TO RUN THE PROGRAM

  Transfer TURBOTR.DSK to your CPC (using an older version of Turbo Transfer).
  Run TURBOTR.BAS on your CPC and read the instructions on the screen.

5.BENCHS

     PC ------------- CPC
  DSK file    ---->   RAM   :  7,820 bytes/sec. (62,560 bits/sec)
  DSK file    ---->   disk  :  3,840 bytes/sec. (30,720 bits/sec)
  EDSK file   ---->   disk  :  4,300 bytes/sec. (34,400 bits/sec)

  * The EDSK file used has 42 tracks, 10 sectors/track and 512 bytes/sector.

  You only need 48 seconds for a full transfer (transfer + format +
  + write) for a DSK image (180 Kbytes) and 50 seconds for a 210 Kbytes
  EDSK image.

8.WHAT'S NEW?

  Version 0.92 (04/02/2000)
  * Minor update. Some EDSK have different number of tracks in the Disk Info
    Block than in the file. Now, when the PC side of Turbo Transfer detects a
    nonexistent track it ends the comunication with the CPC and both end the
    program correctly.

  Version 0.91 (01/02/2000)
  * Bug corrected, when an EDSK sector has headID not equal to 0, now the
    CPC side of Turbo Transfer writes the correct headID (BSC Megademo uses
    sectors with headID = F3h)
  * Added write deleted data feature to create control mark sectors. Some
    EDSK has this type of sectors.

  Version 0.90 (25/01/2000)
  * EDSK image files transfer.
  * AMSDOS ROM not longer used. I use my own disk routines which are a bit
    faster.

  Version 0.80 (28/03/1999)
  * DSK image files transfer.

9.BUGS!

  Some games like Prehistorik II or Super Cauldron 3 have one or more
  copyprotection tracks. This tracks have 14 512 bytes sectors. The track
  length is 7 Kbytes! and I don't know to create it using software only.
  I need help with this!!!
