This archive contains keyboard driver and fonts
for the countries which use the Cyrillic alphabet
such as Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia, Russia etc.

It was written by a programmer at IBM Bulgaria.
Unfortunatelly I cannot recall the name of the
author but I newertheless acknowledge him.

The driver has been used with OS/2 Warp and
I am not sure whether it will work under other
versions of OS/2. Under Warp it works fine with
the exception of codepage 915 which for some reason
disables linefeed and backspace keys in IBM Works.
Codepage 815 could be used instead which does not
cause the above problem.

The driver also disables the clean boot feature
(starting the desktop with no open objects) as it
uses the same key combination (ALT+SHIFT) to switch
between codepages. The installation documentation
also does not mention that SHIFT+RIGHT ALT and
SHIFT+LEFT ALT key combinations are used to switch
back and forth the currently loaded codepages.

Another consideration is that Microsoft Windows
Cyrillic keyboard drivers remap the keyboard in a
different way so simply converting Windows PostScript
fonts for use with OS/2 will not work.

I appologise to the potential users for not having
time to automate the installation by writing a REXX
routine and distributing the software in 'raw' form.
If the system traps on boot up after manual installa-
tion you have deffinitely failed to install a
component correctly. Do not panic, just restart the
machine, go to OS/2 command prompt (I assume that
you know how to do this) and using TEDIT.EXE text
editor check very carefully the respective statements
in the CONFIG.SYS file.

I hope that people who make use of the Cyrillic alphabet
would find this software usefull.

Emil Iliev
