INTRODUCTION CoolCars is a turn-based (!) racing game for 1 up to 8 players on a single PC. Apart from Single Races and Practice Races, you can race against the record holder of a track (Ghost Race) and play complete season series, too. Special features are changing weather conditions, engine breakdowns and punishments for rowdies. Additional a track editor is included. The car can be moved by mouse click in which the acceleration is one field per move. The same way you can hold and reduce your speed. Oil and water fields limit vehicle control, meadow and gravel beds cause abrupt, strong brake. SOME IMPORTANT NOTES The actual version of the game is 1.21 - among others, tracks optionally can be driven from the finish to start now. It is strongly recommended to run the program by executing the enclosed Sound or NoSound PIF file. Any questions, comments, criticisms etc. are always welcome - just send me a mail. For all kinds of damages no adhesion of the author is assumed. You use the program at your own risk! INSTRUCTIONS You can choose between two modes: Single Race/Practice/Ghost Race and Championship Season. The ghost is the record holder of a track - Records driven "backwardly" can't be saved because of the downward compatibility. If you've beaten a record you may enter your name or pseudonym. The ghost can't be crashed. Please send me your records or self-designed tracks as a mail attachment - I'd like to publish them on the CoolCars Homepage! If there are pitstop fields on a track, each driver has to stop once at least! Otherwise the finish entry has no effect. At reaching the finish in the same time, the driver who started later will win. In equal-score cases in a Championship the driver/team with more wins, second places etc. will be preferred. A word about the points distribution: I recommend to give the race winner not too few points (at least 10), because the winner points are the base for punishments (subtractions, disqualifications). In the track editor you can also use the right mouse button (pipette function). Water fields can't be set. FREE REGISTRATION These are the advantages of the registered version: - up to 40 (!) Championship Seasons in series playable (instead of maximum 2) - choose between 5 and 20 races in a season (instead of only 5) - save your current season - save your self-designed tracks - no more silly cardware hints Gratutious - just fill out the Online Registration in less than one minute! UPDATES/NEWSLETTER Registered users will receive the CoolCars Newsletter which informs about updates etc. Of course, you can remove yourself from the distribution list by sending an "Unsubscribe" mail.
