Don't forget the special $129.00 pricing for The Holiday Inn -- Independence Mall (1-800-The-Bell) will be ending August 8th. The normal rate for this hotel is $149.00 - $169.00. Warpstock will be a great event to bring your family to since the Hotel is walking distance to the majority of Philadelphia's great historic sites, such as Independence Hall, The Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross' House, and many of Philadelphia's museums. It is also a mere 70 minutes via the high speed Metroliner from New York City and walking distance from the Reading Terminal (train station). As usual Warpstock encourages you to stay at the Holiday Inn so that you can be right there when we start our sessions each day until the bitter end. There are a number of eateries near to the hotel so you are not going to be tied to dining at the Holiday Inn. Warpstock wishes to remind everyone that Warpstock's pricing and facilities expenses are tied directly to the number of rooms booked at the hotel, just as in years past.
Warpstock also has GOLF SHIRTS for sale. We have understood the demand for Warpstock shirts, and for the first time you can PRE-ORDER these shirts for pickup at Warpstock. We are offering two colors, a limited edition Royal Blue (these can be shipped via mail for $5 extra) which is already sold out in sizes SMALL and 3X & up and a very kewl Black (any size) which can only be picked up at Warpstock. Go to http://www.warpstock.org/shirts.html for more information and to place your order.
The 4th annual Warpstock conference will be held September 9-10, 2000, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is produced by Warpstock, Inc., a North Carolina non-profit corporation. The Warpstock annual conference is a gathering of OS/2 users and vendors from around the world for the purpose of education and advocacy. More information is available at the Warpstock 2000 website, http://www.warpstock.org/.

Download "wcast.zip". Use minstall to do a full install. If you are at driver level 1.142A you may want to download the wcast.sys file only. However I did make a small change in the DiveTV application for those of you who are using the "CD pass thru" feature of the board. If you are using DiveTV and the CD pass thru you may want to grab the full package.
This release fixes:
For those of you who have not yet installed a TV card in your OS/2 system I would like to point out that the Hauppauge "WinTV Go" is selling for about US $49! Not bad when you consider the fact that IBM developed a TV application back in the early 90's even though the cards sold for almost $400.
For more information, see the July issue of the VOICE Newsletter. I'm told that it will contain a review of the WinCast driver and WinTV Go.
370TO486 makes an excellent development tool for developing mainframe programs away from the expensive mainframe. Programmers can be trained in IBM 370 Assembler on inexpensive office or home computers.
While running Legacy Assembler code on a PC may be seen to be unusual, the IBM Mainframe assembler syntax, general language and ease of coding makes coding programs far easier than the Microsoft or Borland Intel Assemblers.
Not only can Legacy programs be run on a Personal Computer, but this assembler can be used to write very fast programs for the PC, and later, they can be transferred to a mainframe for real speed.
I see it being very useful for:
Symbolic Debugging - programs developed or converted with 370TO486 can use Borland's Debugger to examine variables, step through code and stop when variables change.
Prerequisites - 370TO486 requires the use of Borland's OS/2 C compiler and assembler, or Borland version 5.x for Win95/NT. Borland's "C" is required for many of the support functions, such as File Input/Output facilities.
Because this is the first release, I want to keep some control over it to keep track of bugs etc. If you'd like a copy, please email me.
This is the latest and, what we hope will be, the most functional archiver solution ever produced for the OS/2 family of operating systems. We had originally planned to get this update out in February but over the past few months we have had our share of delays. One thing remains certain... we have never stopped working for the platform.
WARPZIP OVERVIEW
WarpZip is the latest in ZIP, RAR, ARJ, LZH and OS/2 "Packed" file management. Beneath WarpZip's stunning interface you will find some revolutionary and powerful functions that will save both time and effort and boost your productivity.
The integration of a directory tree as part of the interface makes unarchiving complete archives or just selected file(s) from an archive to any directory as simple as a 3 inch drag and drop, to ANYWHERE on your drives. If you don't have the directory you want, create it! You can also open any folder from the directory tree for drag and drop operations. Drag files into or out of archives. Delete any directory or even complete directory trees from WarpZip!
Double clicking any "install.exe" entry in an archive automatically opens the archive and starts the installation executable. When you're finished, just click the "Clean up" button and WarpZip will not only delete the mess but destroy all the temporary objects that were created in the process!
DOWNLOAD PREPROCESSOR
No more manually selecting a directory when downloading from NS. WarpZip's Download PreProcessor allows your browsing sessions to sport one click downloads that obey your every whim. It will selectively move your downloaded zip files to any directory you choose, test them for integrity, virus test them and queue them up for later review by WarpZip. All this is handled seamlessly in the background while you spend your online time making your browser session count. When you're offline, WarpZip will be waiting with the list of files you've downloaded. It will automatically load them in it's queue on startup and present you with any test results you may have requested.
PACKED FILES?
OS/2 Packed file extensions can have "_" or "@" or no extension at all. So how do you locate them? Better yet, how do you locate and see what files are archived inside of them? We are unaware of any software that will help you find those almost unrecognizable OS/2 packed files except WarpZip. Of course, dragging a file out of them or viewing them is as easy as working with a ZIP, RAR, ARJ or LZH archive.
SEARCH FACILITIES
WarpZip will search a directory, directory tree, hard disk or CD for ZIP, RAR, ARJ and LZH archives as well as OS/2 packed files. It will add or delete files from archives, view files in archives or you can test run them (to do an installation, for example) and let WarpZip clean up after you. You can test zip files or run virus scans, view bitmaps, grep, build self extractors, copy, move, rename, delete... well... you get the picture...
WHERE CAN I FIND IT? Downloads and information are obtained from our website at: http://www.pillarsoft.net/warpzip.html
WarpZip licenses are available at BMT Micro ($29) http://www.bmtmicro.com/
We will also be offering the PillarSoft Suite at a discount during WarpTech. The PillarSoft Suite will be available for only $99 at WarpTech. If you can't make it to WarpTech, you can still take part in the discount through the PillarSoft Suite website at: http://www.pillarsoft.net/suite.html
"The upcoming 2.10 build of PMView will feature several improvements based on customer requests. There are two new file formats WAP Bitmap (a new file format used in WAP mobile phones) and Softimage PIC, also more than a dozen corrections to correct all known problems," said Peter Nielsen, developer and owner of PMView. Regarding his future plans, Peter added "When the 3.0 release is made you will be able to run it on your Linux machine as well, but that is all I will say for now."
PMView is image editing and conversion tool for the OS/2 and Windows operating systems. With the upcoming 2.10 release it will feature support for over 40 image formats, as well as a automatic thumbnailing, built-in slideshow and screen capture utilities. PMViews features make it great for webmasters, presentations, or anyone who needs to archive a variety of image formats. More information on PMView 2000 as well as the current release are available at the PMView website http://www.pmview.com/
