WARPSTOCK A bit of good news to report: Warpstock has announced they will hold their next conference in San Francisco, California on October 18-19, 2003. The BayWarp OS/2 User Group, (aka, the San Francisco Bay Area OS/2 User Group) won the bid to host the event which brings OS/2 loyalists together each year to discuss their favorite operating system, OS/2. Warpstock should be announcing the actual site location and recommended travel arrangements shortly. The BayWarp event team is still looking for a publicity coordinator. This position can be handled by someone not local to the San Francisco area. This person will be responsible for drafting/sending announcements to keep the OS/2-eCS community informed of the Warpstock event news. If you want to help, please contact the Event Chairman, Samuel Little. Unfortunately, there is nothing to report from Warpstock Europe. It is uncertain if there will be another conference in Europe this year. OS/2 WORLD AWARDS Thomas Lee Mullins reports that the 3rd Annual OS/2 World Awards is now accepting nominations for the following categories:

MISCELLANEOUS IBM's 2003 stockholders' meeting was held in Kansas City, Missouri, on Tuesday, April 29th. You may view the presentation given by IBM Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Sam Palmisano, with additional remarks by Nick Donofrio, IBM senior vice president of corporate technology and manufacturing, by clicking HERE. Please note that the presentation requires a properly configured Real Media or Windows Media Player as well as appropriate Internet connectivity. I've been advised by one of our readers that you can still buy OS/2 from IBM thru their PASSPORT program at: http://www-3.ibm.com/software/os/warp/swchoice/howtobuy.html As Casey Stengle would have said, Who'da thunk it!
